Three’s a Crowd

My name’s Mark and I’m definitely not a Mets fan, or even a baseball guy for that matter. However, I do understand what it feels like to root for a team that constantly disappoints you. That’s right. I’m a New York Islanders fan. Now I’m not gonna sit here and pretend like I am the biggest Isles fan ever. I can’t name every player to ever wear the crest. I don’t know every stat off the top of my head. But, I will say that if ya cut me open, I’ll probably bleed blue and orange. The Islanders were the first team I truly cared about as a kid, and hockey is the only sport that I can say that I truly keep up with today.

Now let’s talk about the red and blue elephant in the room. It seems like my buddy Matt has decided to let a Rangers fan be an author for this blog. I’m not mad. I’m just disappointed in his judgement. I don’t know Jerry very well. He seems passionate in what he talks about. Even if what he talks about is the NHL’s most over-hyped team. Now I won’t lie, on paper the Rags are pretty stacked. Adding both Patty Kane and Tarasenko was impressive. It shows how much your GM is buying into the “win now” mode. But just because things look good on paper, doesn’t mean it’ll translate when it comes playoff time. Time will tell though. I’m just hoping you guys don’t choke. I’d love to see a battle for New York.

So, on this blog you’ll find me mostly talking about hockey…and by hockey, I mean Isles hockey. And to all the people that don’t want to read about the “boring” New York Islanders, go fuck yourself. Too harsh? Alright, alright don’t get too sensitive on me…I’ll talk about hockey news in general from time to time for all you casuals. Till then, stay classy and Let’s Go Islanders!
